Eureka 3684F Mighty Mite Pet Lover is bagged, corded, canister vacuum cleaner. It is lightweight and very affordable vacuum, excellent as an entry level home or apartment vacuum cleaner, or as second vacuum cleaner for quick cleanups. Thanks to strong suction, good air filtration and cleaning tools designed for cleaning various and often stubborn pet hair and dirt, it is often used as vacuum cleaner by pet owners.

Eureka 3684F Features and Specifications

Eureka 3684F is powered with 12 Amps motor which provides plenty of suction. Power cord is 20 feet (6.1 m) long and at first it doesn't sound much, but don't forget that this is canister vacuum cleaner with flexible cleaning hose (6 feet (1.83 m) long) and telescopic wand - maximum range is well beyond 30 feet.

Unit comes with automatic motor shut-off feature which is activated via thermal switch - if/when the air flow is decreased, motor cooling is decreased, leading to the rise in motor temperature. To prevent damage, thermal switch shuts-off the motor.

If that happens, turn off the unit, unplug it from the wall socket and find the reason of the decreased air flow (clog, full bag, dirty air filter etc.).

Eureka 3684F is simple unit to use, but nonetheless, be sure to read the manual before the first use.

Thanks to the hose and wand, unit is suitable for cleaning both floors and elevated surfaces, using main cleaning nozzle and set of cleaning attachments.

Main cleaning nozzle width is 11 inches (~28 cm), which allows the user to clean rather large area fast, but it is also narrow enough to allow the user to clean around various objects and obstacles commonly found at homes, like furniture, beds, stairs, chairs etc.

Dirt is collected in disposable vacuum bags. Note that there are vacuum bags with various degrees of air filtration: Eureka MM Bags 60295C, Eureka MM Premium Bag and Eureka MM Allergen Bag.

There are also other non-OEM bags, but personally although some of them have excellent reviews, I generally don't recommend using non-OEM bags.

Additional layer of air filtration is provided with HEPA air filter which, according to the manufacturer, traps 99.97% of all airborne pollutants 0.3 microns or larger in size. This is very important not only for pet owners or for people with health issues like asthma and allergies, but for all people in general.

Unit is very compact and lightweight - it is 17 inches (~43.2 com) long, 9 inches (~23 cm) wide and 11 inches (~28 cm) high and weighs around 8 pounds (~3.6 kg). Eureka 3684F is lightweight enough to be can easily carried around and up and down stairs.

Additional cleaning tools include crevice tool, dual purpose dusting brush and upholstery nozzle and PET Power Tool.

Most important cleaning attachment is PET Power Paw, which is turbo nozzle tool. As the brush rotates, its bristles pull pet and human hair and other dirt from the cleaned surface, and the strong air flow carries everything into the vacuum bag.

Note: PET Power Paw is not of tangle-free design and occasionally it has to be cleaned.

Crevice tool is used for cleaning hard to reach areas and tight spots and corners.

Dual purpose dusting brush and upholstery nozzle - used for cleaning of elevated surfaces like tabletops, upholstery, furniture and similar.

One of the interesting features of the unit is that it can act as air blower, too, adding to the unit's versatility.

Eureka 3684F comes with 1 year warranty, which is good for vacuums in this price range.

Eureka 3684F - Few Cons

For its price, Eureka 3684F is one of the best and thus one of the most popular vacuums.

However, there are few cons, too:

- there are no LED headlights on the main floor nozzle. Call me spoiled, but those lights can help significantly when vacuuming under beds and generally in low light conditions. And thanks to the flexible hose and telescopic wand, Eureka 3684F can clean under beds easily.

- there is no clog, full bag or dirty filter sensor - it is up to the user to note that there is something wrong with the suction, and to find what is causing the issues.

- there is no automatic power cord rewind system.

There are few smaller details as well, but these are generally the most important ones.

 Eureka 3684F Mighty Mite Pet Lover vs. Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite

These two Eureka Mighty Mites are two very similar models, but they differ in several important details:

- Eureka 3684F comes with telescopic wand, while Eureka 3670G comes with two-piece cleaning wand,

- Eureka 3684F comes with Pet Cleaning Tools,

- Eureka 3684F comes with HEPA grade air filter,

- Eureka 3684F comes with 6 feet hose, while Eureka 3670G comes with longer, 7 feet, cleaning hose,

- Eureka 3684F is slightly more expensive model.

 Other than that, these Mighty Mites are practically the same models. Although Eureka 3684F costs slightly more, IMHO, it is better choice.

Long Story Short: Eureka 3684F is affordable canister vacuum that gets its job done. It is very good entry level home vacuum cleaner, proven by many users to be more than worth its price.
